June 2018 Food Distribution

Project Summary: Our team of 12 young Haitian volunteers (Ansanm Nou Fo), in partnership with Our Father’s House Worldwide, distributed food packages in a rural mountain village for 50 families. (photos)

Project Objectives: Demonstrated love to families suffering extreme poverty while developing organizational and leadership skills among our group of young Haitian volunteers.

Location: Decouzi, Haiti (map)

Our team prepared the food packages the week of June 17, 2018 with a planned date of June 21. However, car trouble forced us to return on Sunday 24 June to complete the distribution. We are thankful for the partnership with Our Father’s House Worldwide. Their support enabled this June project to meet the needs of these families and empower our volunteers to give back to their own people.

Project Cost Breakdown: All prices below are based on the average exchange rate of 66 Haitian gourde per one US dollar. Our 12 volunteers served 50 families and spent a total of $566.

Hi, there! I just came across your website while looking for supplemental resources as I learn Haitian Creole. I just bought Pimsleur’s Haitian Creole lessons and am getting more excited as I learn each day!

I was curious if you’d be able to make some audio resources with common dog (or pet) commands. I’m learning Creole on my own and seeing as my dog is my main companion I’d love to be able to speak to him in Creole to motivate me to learn every day!

Examples: sit, stay, roll over, shake, good/bad boy/girl, do you need to go potty (bathroom)?, are you hungry?, ready for dinner?, want to go for a walk/car ride?, who’s a good boy?, etc.)

Anyway, thank you for making this wonderful website! (:
